Three loaded pistols and another Islamic State flag were also recovered nearby.
The Sri Lankan individuals, residents of Colombo, were arrested by the Gujarat Police’s anti-terrorism squad. The Sri Lankan foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The suspects were found with an Islamic State flag and evidence on their mobile phones linking them to the militant group. In a separate location near Ahmedabad, three loaded pistols and another Islamic State flag were recovered based on information from the mobile phones. A case has been registered against the suspects under various laws including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Indian Penal Code, and the Arms Act.
