A man from North Chicago, Jonatan Luna-Carrasco, was arrested for kidnapping a woman from Wisconsin in February. The incident occurred after Luna-Carrasco approached the woman and her friend on U.S. Route 41, claiming they had a flat tire. He offered to help change it and convinced the woman to get into his car, where he then fled with her against her will. Fortunately, the victim was able to escape from the moving vehicle and seek help at a nearby home. Luna-Carrasco was subsequently arrested with the help of Flock camera technology and is currently being held in the Lake County Jail.
The woman and her friend had left a nightclub in Waukegan, Illinois before being approached by Luna-Carrasco. After pulling over to change the alleged flat tire, Luna-Carrasco took advantage of the situation to kidnap the woman. His intentions during the abduction remain unclear, but he made sexually suggestive comments to the victim. The Gurnee Police Department responded promptly to the incident and provided assistance until sheriff’s deputies arrived. Luna-Carrasco was believed to be taking the woman to an unknown location, but thanks to the victim’s quick thinking, she was able to escape and seek help.
