Tech billionaire Elon Musk is actively campaigning in support of former President Donald Trump’s re-election in Pennsylvania, offering $1 million a day to swing-state voters who sign his political action committee’s petition supporting the Constitution. This initiative has raised legal concerns as it falls within a legal gray zone surrounding voter incentives, though it is not directly paying voters to register. The initiative requires voters to sign a petition backing the First and Second Amendments and is limited to battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona.

Despite the legal questions, Musk’s PAC is continuing its $1 million a day giveaway to petition signers from key battleground states. Critics have raised concerns about the legality and ethics of such initiatives, with Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro highlighting the potential issues with Musk’s spending in the election. However, Musk has brushed off these concerns, stating that he has the right to express his views and support the candidate of his choice. Democrats have also expressed worries about Musk’s influence in the election, particularly in a crucial swing state like Pennsylvania.

Musk’s PAC has also offered incentives to individuals working to increase voter registration and turnout, providing wages above the federal minimum wage and referral bonuses for each registered voter they refer to sign the petition. Musk’s PAC, which promotes free speech and free markets, has already invested millions in key congressional races and plans to continue funding campaigns. Musk endorsed Trump over the summer and has since been actively campaigning in support of his re-election, focusing on issues like the First and Second Amendments and reducing government regulations.

The upcoming election in Pennsylvania is crucial, with both Trump and Vice President Harris making multiple visits to the state to rally support. Musk’s campaign tour has worried Democrats, who acknowledge his influence and appeal to a demographic that they need to win Pennsylvania. Despite criticism and legal concerns, Musk remains committed to supporting Trump’s re-election and has been campaigning actively in key battleground states to rally support. With Pennsylvania playing a key role in determining the final outcome of the election, Musk’s efforts could have a significant impact on the race.
