Born in London, Blow moved to New York in her early 20s to study at Columbia before working for Guy Laroche in Texas. She eventually moved back to London to work for Tatler and discovered talents like McQueen and Treacy.

Throughout her career, Isabella Blow faced numerous challenges, including struggles with depression, bipolar disorder, and ovarian cancer. She underwent electroshock therapy for her mental health issues and made several suicide attempts before tragically taking her own life in 2007 at the age of 48.
