Hendrick Motorsports, founded by Rick Hendrick, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is considered the most successful team in Nascar history. With the team president and general manager, Jeff Andrews, at the helm, Hendrick Motorsports is having a strong 2024 season with drivers Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott leading the standings. William Byron has also secured three victories, including the Daytona 500, while Alex Bowman has consistently placed in the top 10.

Andrews acknowledges the need for continued high performance to secure a spot in the playoffs and ultimately compete for the championship in November. With seven wins already in the season, Hendrick Motorsports has experienced a significant turnaround compared to the previous year, where some drivers missed the playoffs and fell short in the Championship 4. Andrews emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and optimization in all aspects of the team’s performance to stay competitive.

Having been with the team for over 25 years, Andrews was promoted to president and general manager in May 2022. Hendrick Motorsports has managed to secure its driver lineup through 2025, with Byron’s contract being the first to expire. The focus is now on preparing for the future by scouting and investing in young talent, such as sponsorships in the Craftsman Truck Series with drivers like Rajah Caruth, who has shown promising results and potential for growth.

In addition to sponsoring the Truck Series effort, Hendrick Motorsports has also reignited its Xfinity Series program in 2022. The No. 17 team has seen increased participation in races, with all four Cup drivers and road racing ace Boris Said taking part in events. The part-time Xfinity program allows drivers to gain more experience and track time before Sunday races. The team has plans for eight to 12 races for the car, giving drivers the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially secure another championship for the organization.

As the Cup Series heads to Nashville Superspeedway, Hendrick Motorsports looks poised for success with Larson and Elliott having already won races at the track. The team’s primary sponsor, Ally, is the title sponsor for the upcoming event, adding to the excitement surrounding the Hendrick Motorsports team. With a strong lineup of talented drivers and a focus on continuous improvement and future talent development, Hendrick Motorsports looks set to continue its legacy of success in Nascar.
