Texas is offering a $5,000 reward for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of members of the dangerous Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA). Governor Abbott recently declared the gang a “foreign terrorist organization” and announced that the state would be taking a more aggressive approach to targeting its members. The gang is primarily based in Venezuela and has around 5,000 members spread between Venezuela and the United States. Texas aims to prevent the gang from gaining a foothold in the state and terrorizing its citizens.

Authorities in Aurora, Colorado recently released suspected Tren de Aragua gang members on a $1,000 bond, sparking concern about the potential danger they pose. Members of the gang have been linked to various crimes such as murder, drug trafficking, sex crimes, and extortion in the United States. Venezuelan migrants associated with the gang have been entering the country illegally and committing crimes, then being caught and released by border authorities. This has led to several arrests in different parts of the country, including in San Antonio, Colorado, Wisconsin, and El Paso, Texas.

Governor Abbott has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to classify the Tren de Aragua gang as a Tier 1 gang and has established a TdA Strike Team to identify and arrest its members. The state is committed to preventing the gang from using Texas as a base of operations for criminal activities. Authorities are urging tipsters to provide information either through the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website or by calling a specific hotline. The reward offered for information could potentially lead to the capture of known or suspected TdA members.

In Aurora, Colorado, four Tren de Aragua gang members were arrested following a shooting incident near the Nome Street Apartments, which had reportedly been taken over by armed members of the gang. In addition to this incident, other arrests of TdA members have also been made in Wisconsin, where a member was apprehended for assaulting a mother and her daughter after being released earlier in Minneapolis. The gang’s violent activities have raised concerns about public safety and the need for law enforcement agencies to work together to prevent further crimes.

Several members of the Tren de Aragua gang have been apprehended in different parts of the United States, including San Antonio, Colorado, Wisconsin, and El Paso, Texas. The arrest of these individuals highlights the broad reach of the gang’s criminal activities and the need for coordinated efforts to dismantle their operations. The U.S. Border Patrol has also been involved in capturing TdA members attempting to enter the country illegally. The focus on targeting the gang and preventing their expansion in Texas and other states is a top priority for law enforcement agencies.

The $5,000 reward offered by Texas for information leading to the arrest of Tren de Aragua gang members underscores the serious threat posed by the gang’s activities. Governor Abbott’s declaration of the gang as a “foreign terrorist organization” reflects the severity of the situation and the need for decisive action to protect communities. With the establishment of a specialized strike team and the classification of the gang as a Tier 1 threat, Texas is sending a clear message that it will not tolerate criminal organizations like Tren de Aragua operating within its borders. Public cooperation and information sharing are crucial in the effort to dismantle the gang and ensure the safety of residents in Texas and beyond.
