Amazon has recently implemented a $1 fee for returning some packages to UPS, but there are still various ways to return items for free. One simple option is to visit a nearby drop-off location with the Amazon products you wish to send back. If you don’t have the original box, you can still bring your items to these locations and have them packed and shipped for free. Additionally, you can choose to have your package picked up for added convenience. Returns can also be made at Kohl’s stores, where employees will pack, label, and ship your items for free, occasionally offering Kohl’s coupons as well.

Another option for returning Amazon purchases is Whole Foods Market, where select stores accept returns. After selecting Whole Foods as the drop-off location, Amazon will email a QR code for an employee to scan. Simply bring the items to the customer service desk or return kiosk at Whole Foods, and an employee will take care of the rest. The UPS Store is another convenient option for returns, with employees packing, labeling, and shipping your items for free. If UPS is chosen as the return method but there is a closer drop-off location, Amazon may charge a $1 fee. Alternatively, UPS pickup is available for eligible items, allowing you to have your package picked up from your home.

If you live near an Amazon store such as Amazon Fresh or Amazon Go, you can drop off your returns there. Amazon will provide a QR code to show to an employee, and you will need to bring the items in their original packaging. Amazon is also testing a feature with DoorDash that will allow customers to request a Dasher to pick up their returns and drop them off at designated locations. This option currently requires items to be already packaged with a prepaid return label attached and is only available in select areas. Overall, Amazon offers various ways to return items for free, including drop-off locations, store returns, and pickup options.
