Freddie Freeman continues his hot streak in the World Series, hitting a home run in Game 3 to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-2 victory over the New York Yankees. With this win, the Dodgers are only one game away from claiming their first World Series title since 2020. Freeman has now hit a home run in five consecutive World Series games, dating back to his time with the Atlanta Braves during their 2021 championship run. He walked it off in Game 1 with a grand slam and followed it up with another solo shot in Game 2.

In Game 3, Freeman wasted no time, hitting a two-run blast to put the Dodgers up 2-0 early in the game. Dodgers’ starter Walker Buehler had a strong outing, allowing only two hits over five innings with five strikeouts. The Dodgers continued to add to their lead, with Mookie Betts and Kiké Hernández contributing runs to make it 4-0. Buehler’s fastball was effective, and he was able to use his breaking pitches to his advantage, keeping the Yankees’ hitters off balance.

The Yankees faced tremendous pressure as they struggled to generate offense against the Dodgers. The only runs they were able to score came on a late two-run home run by Alex Verdugo. Aaron Judge, who had been struggling throughout the postseason, couldn’t find his rhythm in Game 3, going 0-for-3 with a walk and another strikeout. The Yankees had a missed opportunity to score earlier in the game when Giancarlo Stanton was thrown out at home on a close play.

The Dodgers bullpen, including Brusdar Graterol, Alex Vesia, Daniel Hudson, Anthony Banda, and Ryan Braiser, kept the Yankees scoreless until the late home run by Verdugo. New York now faces an uphill battle, needing to win four straight games to capture the World Series title. Meanwhile, the Dodgers will be looking to complete the sweep in Game 4 in the Bronx.
