Larry Nassar, the disgraced Olympic gymnastics doctor and convicted child molester, continues to face threats and harassment from other inmates in prison following a near-fatal stabbing incident. A prison source at FCI Coleman, where Nassar was housed from 2018 to 2023, revealed that his fellow inmates targeted him as a “weak” individual who could be exploited. Even after being transferred to a new facility, FCI Lewisburg, Nassar remains in danger as the US Gymnastics Team, whom he preyed on, takes center stage at the Olympics, sparking heightened anger and resentment towards him among the inmates.

The prison guards at FCI Coleman noted that Nassar was initially seen as an easy target because he appeared vulnerable and acted like a victim. This perception led to him being mistreated and called derogatory names by other inmates. Despite his transfer to FCI Lewisburg, the threats and danger still persist for Nassar as a result of his past actions and the continued anger towards him from fans of the Olympic gymnasts he abused. His physical scars from the stabbing incident serve as a constant reminder of the dangers he faces on a daily basis within the prison environment.

Nassar’s transfer to FCI Lewisburg came after a violent incident in which another inmate, Shane McMillan, repeatedly stabbed him with a shank in response to offensive comments made by Nassar. The attack left Nassar with wounds on his back, chest, torso, and arms, requiring dozens of stitches to treat. Despite this near-fatal incident, Nassar continues to serve his lengthy prison sentence for multiple convictions related to sexual assault and possession of child sexual abuse images.

The allegations of Nassar providing sexual favors to Mexican gang members in exchange for protection and items were refuted by the prison guard source, who suggested that the relationship was more likely based on financial transactions rather than sexual favors. The guard claimed that weak individuals in prison often have to offer either sex or money for protection, and in Nassar’s case, it was more about financial transactions than anything else. The rumors of sexual favors may have been circulated to further humiliate Nassar, but there is no concrete evidence to support these claims.

The continued threats and harassment towards Nassar within the prison environment raise concerns for his safety and well-being as he serves his lengthy sentence for his crimes. The involvement of prominent athletes, such as Olympians Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney, in bringing down Nassar by speaking out about their abuse experiences has further fueled the anger and resentment towards him among the inmate population. The complex dynamics of power, vulnerability, and retribution within the prison system create a challenging and dangerous situation for individuals like Nassar who have committed heinous crimes.

Despite the ongoing dangers and threats that Nassar faces in prison, there has been no response from FCI Lewisburg regarding the situation. The prison system’s ability to ensure the safety and security of individuals like Nassar, who may be targeted by other inmates due to the nature of their crimes, remains a critical issue that requires attention and intervention to prevent further violence and harm within the correctional facilities. The complex interplay of factors such as vulnerability, resentment, and power dynamics make it essential for the prison authorities to take proactive measures to protect all inmates, including those like Nassar who may be at heightened risk.
