In a disturbing incident at a Disney World restaurant, a man named Brent George drunkenly made fun of a disabled girl with Down Syndrome. The girl’s family, including her mother Candance Boyette Goldberg and her daughter-in-law Maria Ayalde, confronted George about his behavior. A scuffle broke out when George allegedly shoved the woman and then slapped Ayalde in the face. A physical altercation ensued, with George punching Ayalde’s husband, Wesley Goldberg, in the neck.

A bystander intervened to try to remove George from the situation. However, George claimed to police that he had been struck by a glass cup during the fight, although no glass was found at the scene. He had multiple cuts on his face, and he and his party had been drinking prior to the incident. Despite George’s claim that he was having a good time with the family before they attacked him, he was the one charged with four counts of battery for striking the family members.

George, a Sebring, Florida resident, was taken to Orange County Jail following the incident. His wife, Marla George, paid his $4,000 bond the next day. George pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. The Ohio native had requested to press charges against the family, but they were the ones who provided written statements to police and sought to seek prosecution against him.

The incident at the Disney World restaurant escalated quickly due to George’s inappropriate behavior towards the disabled girl and her family’s efforts to confront him about it. The situation turned physical when George allegedly assaulted the family members, leading to his arrest and subsequent charges of battery. While George claimed to police that he had been attacked by the family, witnesses and the lack of evidence of a glass cup being used in the fight contradicted his account.

It is unclear what consequences George will face as a result of the charges filed against him. The family members involved in the altercation with him provided their accounts to the police and expressed their desire to pursue legal action. George’s actions at the Disney World restaurant not only led to his arrest but also caused distress to the disabled girl and her family as they tried to enjoy their time at the establishment. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of treating others with respect and dignity, especially in public places like Disney World.
