The 2024 GeekWire Awards finalists for UX Design of the Year are making significant contributions to various industries, including home building, investing, AI-generated speech, data analysis, and gig worker schedule and expense tracking. The award aims to recognize products that provide end users with a meaningful, usable, and delightful experience. The five finalists include Digs, Copper, Row Zero, WellSaid Labs, and Solo, each offering unique benefits to their respective user bases.

Digs focuses on providing an intuitive and simple user experience for residential home builders, vendors, and homeowners collaborating on a home build project. With features such as automatic organization and AI-powered search, Digs enhances the build process for all parties involved. Copper, on the other hand, caters to kids, teens, and parents by simplifying the process of building an investment portfolio aimed at driving financial knowledge. The platform has attracted over 2.6 million members who are starting their wealth-building journey.

Row Zero targets business professionals across finance, marketing, operations, and engineering who perform data analysis using large datasets. The platform offers a familiar spreadsheet-like interface that can handle hundred-million-row datasets, making data analysis accessible to all users. WellSaid Labs specializes in providing content creators with precise control over synthetic speech generation through an intuitive studio interface. This allows users to customize aspects like pacing, volume, emphasis, and pronunciation when creating voice content.

Solo caters to gig workers by offering an app that helps them manage their working process from scheduling to expense tracking and taxes. The platform is designed to be simple and easy to navigate, providing gig workers with a streamlined experience. Last year’s winner, CalmWave, focuses on simplifying complex patient information in a user-friendly format. The winners of the GeekWire Awards will be announced at a live event on May 9 at Showbox SoDo in Seattle, where top innovators and companies in the Pacific Northwest technology sector will be recognized.

Finalists were selected based on community nominations and input from judges, with community voting open until April 12. The winner in each category will be determined by a combination of community voting and judges’ feedback. Table sponsorships are available for those interested in attending the event, with early bird pricing ending on March 31.
