Pascal Ibgui, a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette, expressed his desire for younger contestants if he were to become the Golden Bachelor. At 69 years old, Pascal believes that contestants in their 20s like Joey and Kelsey do not have the same life responsibilities as older individuals, making it easier for them to uproot their lives for love. Pascal, who has his own business and a stable life in Chicago, finds it harder to make a big move for the sake of a relationship.
In order to address the location issue for older contestants like himself, Pascal suggested modifying the concept of The Golden Bachelor to include specific cities like Chicago, New York, L.A., Miami, or Dallas. By focusing on major metropolitan areas, it would be easier to find widows or divorcees who may be interested in participating in the show. With this modification, Pascal believes that he may be more open to becoming the next Golden Bachelor and finding love in his own city.
Despite initially not considering the idea, Pascal admitted that he is open to the possibility of stepping into Gerry Turner’s shoes for The Golden Bachelor season 2. With plenty of time due to semi-retirement, Pascal is intrigued by the idea of potentially finding love on a reality dating show. Additionally, Pascal mentioned that some of his castmates from The Golden Bachelorette season 1 are also interested in taking on the Golden Bachelor title.
During his time on The Golden Bachelorette, Pascal was a strong contender for Joan Vassos’ heart, earning a one-on-one date in Las Vegas and making it to the final three men. However, after a fantasy suite date, Pascal realized that his feelings for Joan were not as strong as hers for him. He ultimately decided to self-eliminate, expressing his care for Joan but recognizing that he could not reach the same level of emotions as she had for him.
As Joan faced the possibility of ending her journey on the show without a partner, she became emotional and expressed her fears of leaving without finding love. The Golden Bachelorette finale airs on ABC in November, showcasing the conclusion of Joan’s search for love. With Pascal’s unexpected departure and Joan’s emotional struggles, the finale promises to be a dramatic conclusion to this season of the reality dating series.
