Aoki Lee Simmons, the 21-year-old daughter of supermodel Kimora Lee Simmons and music executive Russell Simmons, is making a name for herself in the fashion industry. After graduating from Harvard and appearing on the Sergio Hudson runway during New York Fashion Week, Aoki is now starring in BCBG New York’s spring 2024 collection visuals. The high-end brand’s collection features lively offerings such as a yellow slip dress, color block frock, white two-piece, cobalt trousers, and more.

According to a statement from a representative for BCBG, Aoki embodies the essence of modern femininity and the harmony of day-to-night style, showcasing the duality of her lifestyle in fashion and post-graduate life. Aoki expressed her admiration for BCBG, stating that the brand has always been a staple in her house and a go-to for various occasions. She credits her mother, Kimora Lee Simmons, for providing helpful modeling advice and allowing her to forge her own path in the industry.

Despite growing up amidst the fashion world due to her mother’s background, Aoki initially did not prioritize owning the catwalk. She reminisced about closing out shows as a child during Baby Phat shows with her mother and sister Ming in the early 2000s. Aoki, who was the youngest Black woman to graduate from Harvard at 20, expressed her love for learning and education, but now aims to focus on her modeling career. She values the opportunity to collaborate with creative individuals in the industry and is excited about working as a full-time model.

While pursuing a career in modeling, Aoki emphasized the importance of staying present and focusing on the moment to learn and grow in the business. Her appearance in BCBG visuals coincides with her publicized romance with restaurateur Vittorio Assaf, with whom she was seen displaying affection during a trip to St. Barts. Sources confirmed their relationship, stating that the couple is enjoying each other’s company.

Aoki’s journey into the fashion world has been influenced by her mother’s legacy, as Kimora Lee Simmons founded the lifestyle label Baby Phat in 1999. Despite the brand ceasing operations in 2010, Kimora revived it in 2019. Aoki credits her mother for providing modeling advice and guidance while also giving her the space to navigate her career independently. As she pursues modeling full-time, Aoki expressed her excitement for collaborating with creative individuals and embracing new opportunities in the industry.
