The future of Graceland, Elvis Presley’s Memphis home, is uncertain as a lawsuit has been filed by Danielle Riley Keough, Elvis’ granddaughter, to block a foreclosure auction scheduled for the estate. Keough inherited Graceland after her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away in January 2023. The lawsuit is against a company called Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC, which claims that Lisa Marie Presley had put up Graceland as collateral for a $3.8 million loan that she had not repaid.

Keough’s lawsuit alleges that the loan and deed provided by Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC are fraudulent and that Lisa Marie Presley never borrowed money from that company. She claims the documents are forged. The notary public who appeared to have notarized the promissory note also denies ever notarizing anything signed by Lisa Marie Presley. Efforts to contact Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC have been fruitless, and Elvis Presley Enterprises has confirmed that the claims are fraudulent.

Following Lisa Marie Presley’s death, there was a legal battle between Keough and Priscilla Presley over the rights to the estate. After reaching a settlement, Keough became the sole owner of Graceland. Lisa Marie Presley had previously sold 85% of Elvis Presley Enterprises’ assets in a deal worth over $100 million but retained ownership of the Graceland mansion and Elvis’ personal items housed in the museum. Graceland is a significant tourist attraction, with hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, generating substantial revenue for Lisa Marie Presley.

Danielle Riley Keough, born to Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough in 1989, is a well-known actor in Hollywood, with roles in films such as “Mad Max Fury Road” and Hulu’s “Under the Bridge.” She has had notable roles in various films and series, including “Daisy Jones & The Six.” Keough recently revealed that she has a daughter, Tupelo Storm Smith-Petersen, born via surrogate, with the name being a tribute to her late brother, Benjamin Storm Keough. Benjamin passed away in 2020 at the age of 27. Despite her family’s tumultuous legal battles over Graceland, Keough continues to pursue her acting career and navigate her personal life.
