SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has expressed support for a new investigation into the scandal of child abuse by grooming gangs in the United Kingdom. Musk called for a national inquiry, describing the scandal as the worst mass crime against the people of Britain. The issue has been ongoing for years, with grooming gangs exploiting children in cities like Rochdale, Telford, Manchester, and Rotherham. A 2014 independent review of grooming in Rotherham found that the majority of perpetrators were of Pakistani heritage and highlighted the horrific nature of the abuse suffered by child victims.

The report found that around 1,400 children were abused between 1997 and 2013 and that abuse continues to this day. It also revealed that police gave no priority to the cases and failed to act, with some reports being suppressed or ignored by local authorities. The issue of political correctness and fear of being called racist also played a role in the failure to address the abuse. Similar findings were made in Telford, where a high proportion of cases involved men described as Asian or Pakistani. The prioritization of multiculturalism and political correctness over the welfare of British children has been criticized.

The issue of child abuse by grooming gangs has sparked renewed calls for a national inquiry, with local politicians in Oldham requesting government intervention. The response from the Home Office Minister indicated that any future inquiry should be organized locally, with a focus on the wishes of survivors. Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch has called for a full national inquiry into what she referred to as the “rape gangs scandal.” Musk also supported calls for King Charles III to intervene, suggesting a cover-up by those in power to avoid scrutiny of their involvement in the scandals.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting defended the government’s response to child abuse, stating that they take the issue seriously and are willing to work with Musk to address it. Musk’s comments have been met with mixed reactions, with some calling them misinformed and others welcoming his involvement in raising awareness of the issue. The scandal of child abuse by grooming gangs in the UK has raised concerns about the protection of vulnerable children and the need for accountability of those involved in the cover-up. Efforts to address the issue and seek justice for the victims are ongoing, with calls for a full investigation into the extent of the abuse and the complicity of those in power.
