The first day of Eid will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, globally. As Muslims eagerly await this auspicious day, they prepare to wish their loved ones a blessed Eid in various languages around the world. Muslims in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries will fast for one more day, extending Ramadan to 30 days, before celebrating Eid al-Fitr, also known as the “festival of breaking the fast”.

Eid al-Fitr marks the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadan and is a joyous occasion for Muslims worldwide. With an estimated 1.9 billion Muslims around the world, Eid is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor. Indonesia boasts the highest Muslim population, with over 240 million Muslims, followed by Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria respectively. This global celebration unites Muslims of diverse backgrounds and cultures in the spirit of joy and unity.

Traditionally, Eid is celebrated for three days in Muslim-majority countries, with each day being an official holiday. However, the duration of Eid festivities may vary from country to country. The day begins with a prayer service at dawn, followed by a sermon delivered by a religious leader. Muslims then spend the day visiting relatives and neighbors, exchanging sweets, and conveying Eid greetings as they move from house to house.

The most common Eid greeting, “Eid Mubarak” or “Eid Sa’id”, is used to wish others a blessed and happy Eid. However, Eid greetings may vary based on regional customs and languages. The video and graphics included in this content provide examples of Eid greetings in 14 different languages, showcasing the diversity of the Muslim community and the universal message of peace and happiness that Eid brings.

Whether it’s in Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, or any other language, the sentiment behind Eid greetings remains the same – to spread joy, blessings, and goodwill among family and friends. As Muslims come together to celebrate this special occasion, they share the joy of Eid with loved ones near and far, emphasizing the importance of unity, compassion, and harmony in the spirit of Eid al-Fitr.
