A Texas woman was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a man who offered to help her with a flat tire on the side of the road. Reynaldo Tapia-Arcibar, 31, faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual abuse in connection with the incident that occurred on May 16 in Austin. The woman called for help around 3:30 a.m., reporting that she had been assaulted after getting inside the man’s white SUV. Despite her attempts to escape and alert a friend for help, she was taken to an apartment complex where the assault took place before she was able to dial 911 and be rescued by police.

Police were able to track her location and arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of her call for help. Tapia-Arcibar was arrested seven hours later as he matched the description provided by the woman and was spotted leaving an apartment in the same complex where the assault occurred.
