The Wayne County Airport Authority clarified that the buses seen in Maddock’s photos were transporting the basketball teams and their staff, not illegal immigrants. Gonzaga University’s assistant athletic director confirmed that their team had arrived on an Allegiant flight and boarded buses at the Detroit airport on the same evening as Maddock’s post. An Allegiant spokesperson further confirmed that the only Allegiant flight to the Detroit airport on Wednesday was the one carrying the Gonzaga team, as verified by a flight-tracking website.
Despite the factual evidence contradicting Maddock’s claim, he continued to insist on his false narrative.
