In a recent interview, actor and former WWE star Dave Bautista revealed that he has lost 75 pounds in recent months in an effort to be closer in size to his Hollywood colleagues. He explained that he initially gained weight for a specific role, but eventually felt uncomfortable being so big. Bautista shared that he had gained the weight quickly by eating lots of french fries and pancakes, and it took him a long time to shed the pounds after filming had wrapped up. As he started losing weight, he noticed that he felt better and looked better on camera.

Bautista did not specify the exact workouts he has been doing to lose weight, but he mentioned that he is training hard and limiting his calorie intake. He estimated that he consumes about 2500 calories a day and practices intermittent fasting by avoiding eating three to four hours before bedtime. Bautista also mentioned that he eats during a short window during the day and has not felt hungry or deprived. He has been working on shedding the weight through a combination of exercise and diet modifications.

In terms of his diet, Bautista shared that he mostly follows a plant-based diet with fish a couple of times a week. In the past, he consumed a lot of calories and protein during his bodybuilding days, but had to cut out dairy after discovering an allergy in 2005. He gradually eliminated other meats such as red meat, pork, and poultry over the years. However, he still eats fish and eggs, while aiming to transition to a vegan diet eventually. Bautista also includes snacks like almond butter and banana or vegan grilled cheese between meals and enjoys sushi as a regular part of his diet.

When it comes to workouts, Bautista stated that he used to focus on bodybuilding during his time in the WWE, but later shifted towards more cardio exercises. He revealed that the most challenging workout he has done is fight training, which combines high-intensity interval training with physical combat. Bautista explained that his favorite workout is squats because he had a fear of having skinny legs. He is constantly engaged in weightlifting, boxing, cycling, and martial arts like Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He emphasized that boxing is his preferred form of cardio due to its intensity.

In his fitness routine, Bautista also takes a variety of health supplements like CoQ10, ribose, and fish oil to support his overall well-being. He mentioned that he works out every day and sometimes trains twice a day to maintain his physique. Bautista has incorporated different exercises into his routine, including weight training, cardio on a spin bike, and practicing boxing in his at-home gym. He expressed his passion for martial arts and boxing as forms of exercise that he enjoys the most. Overall, Bautista prioritizes full-body workouts that help him stay in shape while also challenging himself physically.
