Revaka’s AI-powered information search tool, ACE, is helping designers navigate through specifications, drawings, and construction applications more efficiently. WSP is using computer vision to automate data entry tasks, improving efficiency and quality control in construction processes.

DPR Construction, ranked the sixth-largest contractor by Engineering News Record, is leveraging historical data for analytics during the decision-making process. Through pilot projects, DPR has successfully used generative design for drywall, reducing material waste and improving safety. The industry is recognizing that small businesses can also benefit from AI technologies, with lower barriers to entry for firms of all sizes. Government and industry leaders are being encouraged to accelerate the adoption of AI applications to reduce costs and improve performance on design and construction contracts.

Autodesk is leading the way in the industry’s digital transformation, investing a significant portion of its revenue in research and development. Capabilities like predictive analytics in Autodesk Construction Cloud and the AutoCAD Macro Advisor are helping designers improve their use of software. WSP emphasizes key principles of AI initiation, including responsibility, prioritizing people, and data strategy. Education and discussion are crucial in reducing fear and increasing the implementation of AI in the industry. The workshop highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to drive the industry forward in embracing AI technologies for improved outcomes.
