After the success of Gossip Girl, GG’s crew, consisting of Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, and Taylor Momsen, all became major stars. As the show aired for six seasons, it also welcomed Sebastian Stan and Hilary Duff to the Upper East Side. Throughout the show’s run, there were various relationships between the cast members, with Badgley and Lively, as well as Westwick and Szohr, dating during their time on the series. Crawford described the experience as being like a college experience due to the attractive actors in one space leading to inevitable hookups. Despite the reboot of Gossip Girl on HBO Max, which gained its own following for two seasons from 2021, fans still hold a special place for the original stars.

Since leaving the steps of the Met, the original Gossip Girl stars have all gone on to have successful careers in various projects. Blake Lively has continued to steam up the small screen with roles in films and television, including her highly praised performance in A Simple Favor. Penn Badgley has found success with his leading role in the hit series You, showcasing his talents in a darker role compared to his Gossip Girl character. Leighton Meester has also been busy with acting roles in television and film, as well as pursuing a career in music with her own album releases.

Ed Westwick, known for his role as Chuck Bass, has continued to appear in television shows and films, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Chace Crawford, who portrayed Nate Archibald, has also found success in his career with roles in television shows and movies. Jessica Szohr, who played Vanessa Abrams, has appeared in various projects since Gossip Girl, including television shows and films. Taylor Momsen, who portrayed Jenny Humphrey, has shifted her focus to music with her band The Pretty Reckless, releasing albums and performing on tour.

The original Gossip Girl cast members have all moved on from their iconic roles on the show but have continued to find success in their respective careers. From television to film to music, each actor has showcased their talents and grown as artists since leaving the world of the Upper East Side behind. While the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl may have introduced new stars to the world of Manhattan’s elite, fans still hold a special place in their hearts for the OG cast members who brought the iconic characters to life. XOXO.
