NASA recently announced that they have regained full contact with the Voyager 1 space probe, which is the most distant human-made object in the universe. Before entering interstellar space, both probes explored Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune, gathering valuable data about these planets.

Both Voyager probes carry gold-plated copper discs containing sounds and images from Earth, chosen by a team led by astronomer Carl Sagan.
