Chirp Network and peaq have partnered to provide connectivity solutions for decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs). Chirp Network will integrate its telecommunications technology with peaq, the layer-1 blockchain for DePIN and machine real-world assets (RWAs). Chirp is developing a decentralized connectivity network capable of facilitating data exchange across various IoT channels such as LoRaWAN, LoRa 2.4 GHz, and BLE. The Blackbird gateway devices powered by Chirp’s LTE networks are already operational in 33 countries, providing connectivity across the globe.

The partnership between Chirp and peaq aims to enhance device communication and offer versatile connectivity for DePINs by connecting smart devices worldwide using major IoT protocols. This collaboration will enable seamless data exchange across networks and fleets, supporting a borderless communication backbone. peaq co-founder Till Wendler highlighted the importance of decentralized connectivity and networking for DePINs, emphasizing the unlocking of crucial features for devices all around the world to communicate through a people-owned network.

XMAQUINA, the creator of the first fully autonomous tokenized robot cafe, will utilize Chirp Network for connectivity within the peaq ecosystem. The robotic barista, which was recently showcased at the TOKEN2049 conference in Dubai, operates autonomously by connecting to the peaq blockchain through Chirp’s IoT connectivity layer. Chirp’s integration with peaq will bring DePINs building in its ecosystem one step closer to a world where the infrastructure backbone is run by its users, according to Chirp Network founder Tim Kravchunovsky.

In addition to XMAQUINA, Chirp also plans to provide connectivity for other DePIN projects such as ELOOP, which enables tokenized investments in DePINs via the peaq network, and Silencio, a DePIN that rewards users with crypto for collecting noise pollution data. The collaboration between Chirp and peaq is expected to support the growth and development of various DePIN projects by offering enhanced connectivity features. This partnership will enable DePINs to leverage decentralized connectivity and networking capabilities provided by Chirp Network and peaq to enhance communication and data exchange.

With Chirp’s Blackbird gateway devices and LTE networks, DePIN projects will have access to a unified, multi-protocol decentralized connectivity network that can facilitate seamless data exchange across any supported protocol and any distance. By integrating with peaq, Chirp aims to extend its connectivity solutions to DePINs worldwide, connecting smart devices and enabling borderless communication. The collaboration between Chirp Network and peaq represents a significant step towards establishing a people-owned network for decentralized physical infrastructure networks, supporting the vision of a global infrastructure backbone run by its users.
