Charli XCX recently spoke out against fans who chanted “Taylor [Swift] is dead” at her concerts, asking them to stop the behavior both online and at her shows. The singer shared a message on Instagram Stories expressing her opposition to such actions and her disbelief that anyone would think it is acceptable behavior. Charli, who recently released her sixth album, Brat, has faced speculation that one of the songs on the album, “Sympathy is a Knife,” is about Swift, who is currently dating The 1975 drummer George Daniel, a bandmate of Swift’s ex, Matty Healy.

In the song “Sympathy is a Knife,” Charli sings about not wanting to see Swift backstage at her boyfriend’s show and hoping for their breakup. While Charli previously opened for Swift on the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018 and even joined the pop star onstage to perform “Shake It Off,” she faced criticism from Swift’s fans in 2019 over comments she made about the tour. Charli expressed gratitude for the opportunity but also shared that she felt like she was performing for a young audience when on stage with Swift.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift recently completed her Eras Tour with three consecutive nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. During her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” Swift had her dancers help her get dressed while she pretended to throw a tantrum. The last of the three concerts featured a special appearance by Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who joined her onstage in a matching morning suit and top hat. Kelce playfully applied makeup to Swift’s cheeks and himself before dancing alongside her on stage.

Swift’s London shows have attracted numerous celebrities, including Paul McCartney, Nicola Coughlan, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott, Jon Bon Jovi, Tom Cruise, and Travis and Kylie Kelce. The pop star’s elaborate performances and star-studded audience have garnered widespread attention and praise. As Swift continues to captivate audiences with her music and stage presence, her relationship with Kelce and the support of her fans remain strong. Charli XCX’s message against fan antics serves as a reminder of the importance of respect and positivity in the music community.
