He is currently being evaluated in a Syracuse area hospital according to the team on X.The game was called in the 7th inning #BlueJays #Mets pic.twitter.com\/P6sk3bjoDe\u2014 Mets Reb-ular Season (@SportsRebo) June 1, 2024<\/p>\n<p>He was helped by a Buffalo trainer and manager Casey Candaele, who both signaled to get more help.<\/p>\n<p>His Buffalo teammates waited on the infield, going down to one knee as they looked on in concern.<\/p>\n<p>Henry was eventually carted off the field, and not long after that, it was announced the game \u2014 by a decision between the umpires and the league \u2014 was considered completed after seven innings.<\/p>\n<p>After conferencing with the umpires and talking on his phone, Syracuse general manager Jason Smorol took the microphone and addressed the crowd. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust got word from the umpires and league, the game is going to be canceled at this point, it is a complete game,\u201d Smorol said. \u201cWe\u2019ll end at this point, and our thoughts and prayers are going to go out to Payton Henry as he is en route to the hospital right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Henry, according to the Bisons, is \u201calert and responsive\u201d after being taken to a local hospital in Central New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPayton Henry has been taken to a Syracuse area hospital where he is being evaluated. Payton is currently alert and appropriately responsive.
