His advice that stuck with Schmidt the most?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody recovers different, everybody\u2019s body\u2019s different, but I think nipping it in the bud and making sure it\u2019s healed is the No. 1 thing,\u201d Schmidt said before the Yankees opened a series against the Giants at Oracle Park. \u201cThankfully, this is not a thing that needs surgery or anything like that. It\u2019s just one of those things where you want to make sure you\u2019re healthy so you don\u2019t have to deal with this down the stretch and in the playoffs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m obviously going to do every single thing that I can to expedite this process and make it quicker to be able to get back out there. Obviously being smart, but I really want to help this team down the stretch and win big games and playoff games.
