It happened,\u201d Toucher said. \u201cHe called in and he was acting the fool about his son on the Lakers and his (in a Walton-inspired voice), \u2018Oh, first of all, you gotta buy a Jeep Wrangler \u2026 But while he was selling cars, make up your mind, you phony hippie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike are you really selling cars or are you all about peace and love?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As his co-hosts then mentioned that Toucher\u2019s reaction showed why this was not the best time to go down memory lane, Toucher proved he didn\u2019t care if it touched a nerve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did famously hang up on Bill Walton,\u201d Toucher said before being interrupted. \u201cJust go ahead, he\u2019s dead, I didn\u2019t kill him. Go ahead, play it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show then played the clip from 14 years ago when Walton called into the show to discuss his son Luke\u2019s Lakers defeating the Celtics to win the NBA championship and was asked where that Game 7 \u2014 an 83-79 Los Angeles win \u2014 ranked in the rivalry history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve learned to never rank coaches, concerts, children, championships or congratulations, just enjoy them all, and as a dad, that\u2019s what I\u2019m about,\u201d Walton said at the time. \u201cBecause even though I\u2019m a Celtic and the Celtics gave me my life back 25 years ago, more importantly, I\u2019m a dad. It\u2019s not about me, I want what\u2019s my best for my son and to see that\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlright, well you\u2019re rooting for the Lakers. Goodbye,\u201d Toucher said while cutting off Walton. \u201cI\u2019m not going to take a guest who\u2019s celebrating the team that just beat the Celtics.
