He added two singles in the 5-1 win in Game 2.<\/p>\n<p>Boone said he saw a difference in Volpe\u2019s swing during Friday\u2019s batting practice and that it\u2019s carried over to the games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNice and easy,\u201d Boone said of Volpe\u2019s recent swings. \u201cThat\u2019s what he\u2019s capable of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luis Gil began his throwing program Sunday after it was pushed back initially. <\/p>\n<p>The right-hander, last season\u2019s AL Rookie of the Year, has been sidelined with a lat strain since the spring.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s expected to make his season debut in June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s another good step in the process,\u201d Boone said. \u201cHopefully it continues to go well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boone said Jonathan Lo\u00e1isiga\u2019s first rehab outing with Low-A Tampa was solid. <\/p>\n<p>The right-hander is coming back from elbow surgery and could be an important addition to the pen midway through the season.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Matzek made his Yankees debut in their win in the first game. <\/p>\n<p>The lefty was sidelined during the spring with an oblique injury.
