They know I throw fastballs, they know I throw fastballs often, and they know the location I\u2019m going to. It was on me for not making the adjustment earlier- or at all the whole day \u2014 because the whole day was brutal for me. I\u2019m gonna learn from it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cortes said he felt fine physically and was ready to move on to his next start after allowing eight runs \u2014 and five homers \u2014 in two innings in the 20-9 defeat at Yankee Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>All of those stats were career-worsts for the lefty, who was traded to the Brewers in the offseason as part of a package in exchange for closer Devin Williams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, when you allow eight runs, it\u2019s not a good feeling,\u2019\u2019 Cortes said. \u201cIt didn\u2019t go the way I planned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He called it \u201ca little weird\u201d pitching against his former team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spent a few years over there and was able to be on their side and not have to face them,\u201d Cortes said. \u201cThis comes with the territory, being a major league pitcher, you never know where you\u2019re gonna end up.
