He threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>The former Seahawks and Broncos quarterback played alongside Justin Fields, who also departed Pittsburgh in free agency for the Giants\u2019 crosstown rival Jets on a two-year, $40 million deal.<\/p>\n<p>The Steelers have been targeting ex-Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has not yet decided on his next steps.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the Giants were in on the Rodgers sweepstakes, Wilson is eager to show what he can deliver as both a quarterback and a leader.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAaron Rodgers is a tremendous football player. Really, what I\u2019m focused on is right now and what we can do here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson \u201cexpects\u201d to be the starting quarterback while Jameis Winston, formerly of the Browns, is anticipated to be the backup on a two-year, $8 million deal.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also the widespread belief the Giants will take a quarterback in next month\u2019s NFL draft, where they hold the No. 3 overall pick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we draft a quarterback we\u2019ll make sure that he does everything he can to be ready to go and be prepared for this mentality,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cBut for me, it\u2019s about the process of winning. I\u2019m focused on winning and what I can do as the quarterback of the New York Giants to help us win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winning is something the Giants hardly experienced in 2024, when they finished at 3-14 in the franchise\u2019s milestone 100th season and released starting quarterback Daniel Jones along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson, who won a Super Bowl at the Giants\u2019 home MetLife Stadium in February 2014 with the Seahawks, is ready to reach the mountaintop again after slumping seasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never feel like you do enough unless you win it all,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cThat\u2019s how I\u2019ve always felt.
