So now, being here it\u2019s kind of gratifying knowing all what I went through.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>James, who averages 8.5 points and 4.1 rebounds, had a quiet game Friday, scoring only two points on 0-for-5 shooting. <\/p>\n<p>But Duke is 26-1 since Duke coach Jon Scheyer inserted him into the starting lineup on Dec. 4.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than anything, I just feel like we started getting more and more connected as a team,\u2019\u2019 James said, deflecting personal praise. \u201cThat [26-1] number is great and it reflects well on me, but it\u2019s not really a \u2018me\u2019 thing. It\u2019s more of a matter us starting really clicking as a team.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>James said his transfer to Duke \u201call happened pretty quickly.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce I got in the portal, I got a call from Coach Scheyer,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cYou get a call from Jon Scheyer and Duke, you pick up the phone. I came here and everything made sense right away.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>James said he never fathomed playing this many college games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would have never thought about that,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cI just kind of thought about my freshman season, moving to New Orleans. I don\u2019t think I had the perspective at the time.
