Bartels, who issued a temporary restraining order from his ban.

He went on to win the championship in his weight class at the NJSIAA Region 7 tournament and is set to compete for his fourth state title this weekend.

Knox Jr., who is set to wrestle for Cornell next year, explained that he ran over to the crowd to protect his mother and father.

“During the finals matches, the atmosphere of the crowd became increasingly hostile toward me and my teammates because of our success. Insults were hurled at us,” Knox Jr. said in a statement detailing his actions, which was requested by Bartels. “Apparently, my father approached the people hurling the insults and asked them to stop.

“In response, I saw these people lunge forward assaulting my father and he was pulled down and completely surrounded by unruly people. My immediate reaction was to run close to the section to aid in the protection and safety of my father and mother, who was with me. I dispute the NJSIAA’s adopted version of the facts.”

Knox Sr. told ABC7 that he “saw a bunch of grown men yelling racial slurs at kids that I’ve been training since they were 6 years old, cursing at my son, cursing at my wife” and confronted them, but never once got physical.

“As a man, I walked over, walked up into the stands, and asked the guy to stop,” said Knox Sr. who is a former MMA fighter. “At that point, I was assaulted. Never threw a punch. Never hurt anybody. Never ran up there like a bat out of hell, just throwing punches at people. None of that happened. I got pushed down the bleachers. I could have gotten seriously injured. Then I got surrounded by about 10 other families.”

Knox’s mother, Debra added, “As the day progressed, things got worse and worse. And nobody stepped in.”

Both Knox Jr. and Sr. were led away from the school and into police cars in handcuffs after the incident, according to NJ.com.

The NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Association initially suspended Knox Jr. for leaving the bench.

Knox filed a lawsuit in Mercer County Superior Court through his family lawyer, Lawrence Luttrell.

It’s unclear if anyone was seriously injured.

St. John Vianney High School addressed the incident in a statement.

“This event, which escalated through the emotional feelings of adults, unfortunately, has resulted in impacting young athletes the most and that is very disheartening,” the school said. “Our athletes must take accountability for their actions and we plan to use this event as a learning experience for our athletes and school community.”

Summarize this content to 2000 words in 6 paragraphs in Arabic Anthony Knox Jr., a three-time New Jersey high school state wrestling champion and a senior at St. John Vianney High School, has been charged with simple assault-purposely/knowingly causing bodily injury for his alleged involvement in a brawl that took place in the bleachers at

[58

0":"post-229427","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-sports
["GET
