Fire him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ESPN has yet to address the situation publicly. <\/p>\n<p>Olbermann \u2014 who did not elaborate on his apparent warning to ESPN management \u2014 included a video of McAfee explaining his comments during his ESPN show Monday.<\/p>\n<p>McAfee, who stood by his comments, said he respected how passionate Canadian fans are about their country and waved the white flag because he wanted to move forward. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow Canada listen, there\u2019s been some things said to me from Canadians that I guess I respect because of the passion that you have for your country \u2014 which I hope you understand that I was showing the same for mine. You booed my country,\u201d McAfee said, adding that the boos were \u201coverwhelming\u201d and \u201cvery loud\u201d during the national anthem, which was performed by\u00a0American singer Elizabeth Irving.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>McAfee acknowledged the political climate between the United States and Canada since President Trump\u2019s repeated remarks about wanting to make Canada \u201cthe 51st state\u201d and imposing tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand, now, from the Canadians that they have a lot more passion for their country than I could have imagined. A lot of terrible things have been said about me and I understand it,\u201d McAfee said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 I didn\u2019t say Canadians were terrible, I said your country was. You booed us, I said you were terrible, let\u2019s shake hands and move along.
