The Raiders-Warriors match will be televised on Fox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have four fixtures, not two, this year, so the opportunity to showcase rugby league in Las Vegas, the sports and entertainment capital of America, in that stadium, it\u2019s a unique one,\u2019\u2019 Abdo said.<\/p>\n<p>Abdo is unapologetic in his admission that the NRL is following the blueprint of the NFL\u2019s globalization as it\u2019s played games in England, Mexico, Germany and will play in Australia for the first time in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\t\u201cYou\u2019ll hear the whacks and see the intensity.\u201dIt\u2019s a big weekend for rugby in Las Vegas. @MarkCannizzaro chats with Canberra Raiders star Joseph Tapine. pic.twitter.com\/2VPCtY0BoT\u2014 New York Post Sports (@nypostsports) February 28, 2025 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve absolutely shamelessly looked at what\u2019s working for other big global sports,\u2019\u2019 Abdo said. \u201cSo, quite deliberately, quite strategically, the U.S. was a really important market for us early on in that globalization strategy. This is something the NFL has been doing for a number of years. The NFL is obviously the premium American football product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing able to have fans attend live allows them to follow the sport, play fantasy and follow the sport throughout the season. So, it\u2019s a well-developed strategy and one in which we unashamedly are implementing ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder globalization, the world\u2019s getting smaller and we believe in our product, we believe in our competition. We think we\u2019ve got terrific athletes and clubs. It was the biggest returning subscriber day. It was the biggest ratings ever that we\u2019ve had in Australia. So, it really worked for us.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s event drew a ticketed crowd of 31,927 with 74 percent of attendees from out of town, according to Las Vegas Stadium Authority data. As a result, there was a jockeying for position among the teams to be the next four this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to be a part of it Year 1,\u2019\u2019 Raiders coach Ricky Stuart told The Post after his team\u2019s training session on Thursday. \u201cI wanted to be a team that came to Vegas last year. I think our club deserves it. I believe we could put on a show for our rugby league fans here, but more so America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, America is such a sport-loving country. I\u2019d love them to see more rugby league because I think they would really buy into rugby league and love it.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Tapine, Stuart\u2019s best player on the Raiders, said he found himself \u201cwanting to be a part of it\u2019\u2019 as he watched last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was jealous not to be here and hoping we\u2019d come this year,\u2019\u2019 he told The Post. \u201cI\u2019m grateful we got to come the second year.
