Thank you to Karolina for being a great sport and best of luck to her for the rest of the tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The WTA released a statement Tuesday detailing the harrowing situation involving one of the game\u2019s young stars.<\/p>\n<p>A man who \u201cexhibited fixated behavior\u201d first approached Raducanu in public on Monday, with the Daily Mail further reporting that the man gave her a letter while at her hotel.<\/p>\n<p>One day later, during the first set of her round of 32 matchup against Muchova, Raducanu halted play.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 U.S. Open champion seemed clearly distraught while she headed toward the umpire\u2019s chair before moving behind it, while the umpire talked into what appeared to be a walkie talkie.<\/p>\n<p>Muchova then approached the area and talked to the umpire, before seemingly checking on Raducanu.<\/p>\n<p>Raducanu, the world\u2019s 61st-ranked player, later wiped away tears before the match resumed, with Muchova winning in straight sets.<\/p>\n<p>The male had been seen in the first few rows and ejected, per the WTA, and will be banned from all WTA events \u201cpending a threat assessment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayer safety is our top priority, and tournaments are advised on security best practices for international sporting events,\u201d the WTA\u2019s statement read. \u201cThe WTA is actively working with Emma and her team to ensure her well-being and provide any necessary support.
