By contrast, 62% of Danes and 55% of Germans questioned thought he will be \u201cbad\u201d for world peace.The study also showed broad variations in Europeans’ perception of Europe and its role in the world. The largest camp,\u00a0so-called\u00a0\u201ceuro-optimists\u201d, believe that the EU is a great power and that its collapse is unlikely within the next two decades. They represented\u00a030% of the respondents, with the largest group in Estonia, Denmark, Ukraine, Spain and Portugal.\u00a0By contrast, 22% of respondents were “euro-pessimists”, believing the EU is not a power and is doomed to collapse.\u201cPlenty of people doubt\u00a0whether the EU is a great power who could deal on equal terms with the likes of China or the US.
