Gardner-Johnson in high school, was the defensive backs coach with a part in drafting him to the Saints in 2019 and was the defensive coordinator who helped bring him to the Lions as a free agent in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoached me hard and helped me learn systems,\u201d Gardner-Johnson said. \u201cAppreciate the opportunity he gave me. I\u2019m just happy for him that he got the job. A player\u2019s coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Strahan: Reid a prankster<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no need to remind former Giants great Michael Strahan that Andy Reid was an Eagles head coach long before he was the Chiefs head coach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndy coached me in the Pro Bowl several times,\u201d said Strahan, an NFL on Fox analyst, \u201cand the only problem I had with him then is that every time I get back to New York and open up my travel bag and all my equipment in it, there\u2019d be a bunch of Eagles crap in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eagles O-line has another level<\/p>\n<p>Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, who already oversees one of the best front-fives in the game, said he believes the line can be even better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to sound like a \u2018Debbie Downer,\u2019 but this line isn\u2019t done yet,\u2019\u2019 Stoutland said. \u201cThey\u2019ve done a lot of good things, but there\u2019s still room for improvement, and that\u2019s fun.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Covey out, Moore doubtful<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles ruled out WR Britain Covey (neck) and listed OL Nick Gates (groin), DE Brandon Graham (elbow) and TE C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) as questionable.<\/p>\n<p>WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was limited in practice.
