I get asked this question, I get tired of being asked this question, and I think they should answer it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki joined Billy Wagner and CC Sabathia as members elected to the Class of 2025, but while he entered with a chance to become the first player since former Yankees closer Mariano Rivera in 2019 and just the second ever to secure a unanimous ledger, Suzuki only gathered 393 of the 394 votes \u2014 which instantly prompted backlash on social media and requests that the votes should be made public.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday afternoon, the voter \u2014 who isn\u2019t required to reveal the ballot \u2014 still hadn\u2019t commented on their decision.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki, who collected 3,089 hits across a 19-year career and made 10 All-Star Games after shifting to MLB following a successful run in Japan, avoided blasting the writer in a press conference, though.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was able to receive many votes from the writers, and I\u2019m grateful for them, but there was one writer that I wasn\u2019t able to get a vote from,\u201d Suzuki said through an interpreter. \u201cI would like to invite him over to my house, and we\u2019ll have a drink together, and we\u2019ll have a good chat.
