I\u2019m waiting for the Irish to go to work,\u201d Bettis said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gillis appeared on \u201cCollege GameDay\u201d ahead of the Fighting Irish\u2019s College Football Playoff game against Indiana at Notre Dame Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The popular comedian joked on-air that SEC teams had been paying its players and NIL rules had helped level the playing field, which angered former Alabama coach and ESPN analyst Nick Saban and created an awkward moment later on the set.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gillis was featured in a recent commercial for Under Armor, praying for the Fighting Irish to win the national championship.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey, God. It\u2019s me Shane.
