We will rebuild L.A. hand in hand together.\u201d\u2013Andrew Whitworth\u2019s pregame message rallying the LA community pic.twitter.com\/FhTY987uZX\u2014 ESPN (@espn) January 14, 2025 <\/p>\n<p>AccuWeather estimated Monday that the fires have caused more than $250 billion in damage, and the death toll had reached at least 24 as of Monday, according to the Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>The three active wildfires \u2014 the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst infernos \u2014 were at 14, 33 and 97 percent contained by Monday evening, according to CalFire.<\/p>\n<p>As the Rams\u2019 playoff game neared, the NFL moved the game to Arizona \u2014 labeled the alternate venue ahead of time \u2014 after the NHL and NBA both postponed contests for the Kings and Lakers, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Whitworth, a former All-Pro who now works for Amazon Prime\u2019s pregame and postgame show, delivered his message from the field while holding a microphone.<\/p>\n<p>He spent the final five years of his NFL career with the Rams, made the Pro Bowl while with the team in 2017 and contributed to their Super Bowl win during the final year of his career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the past week, our Los Angeles region has been ravaged by catastrophic wildfires,\u201d Whitworth said to start his speech. \u201cOver 150,000 people have been evacuated.
