I had to go kind of a different way to the house, but I went through most of the village and it\u2019s all gone. I don\u2019t think you can ever prepare yourself for something like that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Redick continued by going into detail about the destruction of his home, mentioning specific things that he and his family lost in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything we owned that was of any importance to us, almost 20 years together as a couple, 10 years of parenting, was in that house,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s certain things that you can\u2019t replace, that will never be replaced. It\u2019s weird s\u2013t, like my son did an art project last year at St. Ann\u2019s in Brooklyn, it was a charcoal pencil painting of a lighthouse that we had framed above the stairs. You can\u2019t ever replace stuff like that. Memories, 18 years together now Chelsea and I, there were certain things that were in that house that you can\u2019t replace. The material stuff is whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite being visibly upset, Redick then turned onto a positive note, mentioning the support that he and his family has received during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Stay up to date with the NYP\u2019s coverage of the terrifying LA-area fires<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Palisades community has been so good to us,\u201d Redick said. \u201cPeople make up community, and we want to help and rebuild on that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want people to feel sorry for me and my family.
