But today it was hotter than earlier in the season, I don\u2019t know, they thought it was stickier, so I take the suspension. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will keep using the same thing because they didn\u2019t find anything in my glove, my hat, my belt. I will keep using [the same thing].\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Diaz denied using any illegal substance. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was really surprised because I didn\u2019t have anything on my hand, my glove, my belt,\u201d Diaz said. \u201cThey always check my hat, everything. And they thought that was sticky a lot. I said \u2018you could check my hand, smell my hand,\u2019 and they didn\u2019t smell anything, but they threw me out of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But crew chief Vic Carapazza was confident it was more than just rosin. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt definitely wasn\u2019t rosin and sweat,\u201d Carapazza told a pool reporter. \u201cWe\u2019ve checked thousands of these. I know what that feeling is. This was very sticky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diaz will now face an automatic 10-game suspension, though he can appeal it. <\/p>\n<p>The Mets can\u2019t replace him on the roster during the suspension, either. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, look, we\u2019ve been through a lot this year, and we\u2019ll find a way to get through it,\u201d manager Carlos Mendoza said. \u201cWe\u2019ll continue to piece it together.
