\u201cI used to get ridiculed and benched in the NBA, \u2018He dribbles too much, he\u2019s over-dribbling,\u2019\u201d Shammgod said. \u201cWhen I first got in the NBA \u2014 I left my sophomore year, I\u2019m right before Jason Williams, White Chocolate, and stuff like that.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I\u2019m arguing. And they\u2019re like, \u2018He\u2019s from New York, he\u2019s arrogant, he\u2019s cocky, he don\u2019t want to listen.\u2019 Because that\u2019s our rep. So now 30 years later, I guess I was right. Because now if you don\u2019t dribble the way I dribble, you can\u2019t play in the NBA.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shammgod\u2019s pro career was mostly overseas and finished in 2010. <\/p>\n
He transitioned to coaching\/training at Providence, where he was preparing Ricky Ledo for the NBA draft and was noticed by Mavericks player development director Mike Procopio.<\/p>\n
