Bryan Gillis suffered scrapes to his wrist and knee during the Scottie Scheffler arrest at the PGA Championship last month, newly released photos show.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Louisville Metro Police Department report, made available publicly on Friday, Gillis, in attempting to direct Scheffler during a May 17 traffic incident near Valhalla Golf Course, became \u201cpinned\u201d to the car and ended up being dragged to the ground as the golfer accelerated.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler, ahead of Day 2 of the tournament, was jailed and released in time to play his round \u2014 shooting a 5-under 66 on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Gillis nor his fellow LMPD officers turned on their body cameras until after the incident with Scheffler had played out.<\/p>\n<p>The potential charges against the 27-year-old \u2014 including felony second-degree assault of a police officer \u2014 were dropped on May 29.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides declined legal action.<\/p>\n<p>This week, speaking for the first time since the charges were dropped, Scheffler called the incident \u201ctraumatic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI definitely hadn\u2019t moved past it,\u201d Scheffler said Tuesday. \u201cI would say that I still, you know, wouldn\u2019t have a hundred percent moved past it because, yeah, the charges are dropped, but I still \u2014 now it\u2019s almost more appropriate for people to ask me about it and ask me about the situation and, to be honest with you, it\u2019s not something that I love reliving, just because it was fairly traumatic for me being arrested going into the golf course.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not something that I love talking about and it\u2019s something that I\u2019m hoping to move past, but when the charges are dropped, that\u2019s kind of only the beginning of kind of getting past it, if that makes sense. So kind of operating through that now. It was definitely a bit of a relief, but not total relief because that\u2019s something that will always, I think, kind of stick with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement of his own on May 30, Gillis wished Scheffler well, but rued the ruination of his \u201cfreaking $80 pants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, the department has us buying freaking $80 pants. To those concerned, they were indeed ruined. But Scottie, it\u2019s all good. I never would\u2019ve guessed I\u2019d have the most famous pair of pants in the country for a few weeks because of this.
