Samaje Perine has chimed in on Patrick Mahomes’ alleged snub of the Chiefs running back on the sideline during their ugly loss in Super Bowl 2025.

Video showed Mahomes dapping up several of his teammates on the bench before skipping Perine as he stood up to go to Travis Kelce for a hug.

That led to many fans wondering if Mahomes had some sort of issue with Perine, who shared what happened from his perspective.

“Lol I actually stood up to untie my pants string, no one blamed anybody,” Perine wrote in a comment on BricksCenter’s Instagram post of the video. “It’s not that deep.”

The video sparked a torrent of reactions online, some describing the moment as “weird,” while others were more harsh, calling Mahomes a “loser.”

It happened near the end of the 40-22 loss in which Mahomes was 21-for-32 with 257 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He was also sacked six times.

His first touchdown pass didn’t come until there were 34 seconds left in the third quarter while trailing, 34-0.

Mahomes added two garbage-time touchdowns with less than three minutes left in the game.

Perine, 29, signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Chiefs in August after he was cut by the Broncos, with whom he played last season. He spent 2020-22 with the Bengals.

In 17 regular-season games for the Chiefs, Perine received 20 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown while catching 28 passes for 322 yards and another touchdown.

He had one carry for eight yards in the Super Bowl.
