All signs seemingly point to Kellen Moore becoming the Saints’ next head coach, but Eagles coach Nick Sirianni made one final pitch — standing on a podium during the Lombardi Trophy ceremony following their Super Bowl 2025 win — to try to convince the Eagles’ offensive coordinator to stay.

“Let’s run this s–t back, Kellen,” Sirianni said, with confetti resting on his hat while commemorating Philadelphia’s 40-22 win over the Chiefs on Sunday in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

It might be a difficult case for Sirianni to make, though, even after the Eagles secured their place in NFL history.

NFL Network reported Sunday that New Orleans planned to finalize its deal with Moore as early as Monday, though the outlet added he “will fly back to Philadelphia with the Eagles after Super Bowl LIX before beginning the process to finalize his hiring.”

So essentially, Moore helped orchestrate an offensive masterpiece inside the venue where he’ll likely be tasked with coaching next.

The Eagles collected 345 total yards against the Chiefs and Steve Spagnuolo’s defense, with quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns while adding another 72 yards and another touchdown on the ground.

Kansas City managed to limit star running back Saquon Barkley to 57 rushing yards and 97 total yards from scrimmage, but Moore and the Eagles found other ways to pierce the Chiefs’ defense — with both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith catching touchdown passes from Hurts.

Moore arrived in Philadelphia after the Eagles fired offensive coordinator Brian Johnson following their postseason exit last year. He previously served in the same role for one year with the Chargers (2022) and four years with the Cowboys.

And in his first year under Sirianni, Moore’s offense featured a star running back in Barkley, who topped 2,000 yards and had a chance to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record for the regular season if Philadelphia didn’t sit its starters in Week 18.

Barkley broke Terrell Davis’ single-season rushing record during Sunday’s game.

Moore interviewed twice with the Saints in January, and his hiring would mark the last one of the current coaching cycle.

It might be difficult for Sirianni to change any of that, but with the Super Bowl celebration unfolding around him, he didn’t hesitate to maximize any possible leverage — with a Super Bowl win being perhaps the best type possible — he had.
