The Knicks didn’t exactly send a strong message to Draymond Green after his controversial comments about Karl-Anthony Towns.

Much of the team — including Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa, MarJon Beauchamp, P.J. Tucker and even head coach Tom Thibodeau — embraced and shared pleasantries with Green following the Knicks’ 97-94 road loss to the Warriors on Saturday night.

Towns, however, quickly left the court and went straight back to the locker room right when the game ended.

It came just over a week after Green made a baseless accusation on his podcast that Towns missed the Knicks’ 114-102 loss to the Warriors at MSG earlier this month because he didn’t want to play against Jimmy Butler, his former Timberwolves teammate.

Towns had been officially ruled out due to “personal reasons” and he later revealed he and his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, had lost a close friend to breast cancer and that he was attending her funeral.

Green gave a non-apology and promoted his podcast after learning he was wrong.

“Oh, man, That’s unfortunate. I’m sorry to hear that. That sucks,” Green told reporters. “But my comments that I made, was that ‘what I heard was this. And that’s what I heard.’ So I do send my well wishes to him and his family. We all experience death in one way or another, and we’ll all experience it the same way one day. So it’s unfortunate. You never wish that on anybody.

“But the ‘Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis’ must go on.”

During a Timberwolves practice in 2018, Butler reportedly cursed out and berated Towns before demanding a trade in a now-infamous incident.

Thibodeau was also coaching the Timberwolves at the time.

Towns chose to take the high road after Green’s accusation, saying last week that “I choose to approach that with love and not hate. That’s all I really care about. I hope no one has to go through what I went through and those kids — and what those kids had to go through. Losing a parent is tough.”

Towns scored 29 points on Saturday, but Green ended up having the last laugh — and then having a laugh with Towns’ teammates.

The two briefly shouted at each other during the game.

“It was good to see KAT show up and play like that,” Green said afterwards. “Physical. Probably the most physical I’ve seen him play.

“I like battles. I’ve never seen him willing to talk. So I enjoyed that. That was fun. He had a really good game.”
