The Ravens are keeping their longtime coach even longer.

Head coach John Harbaugh — who was entering his last year of his deal with the Ravens — received a three-year contract extension to remain in Baltimore, the team announced Friday evening.

Barring a dismissal or resignation, Harbaugh will coach the Ravens for at least 20 seasons.

The only head coach who has been with a team longer is the Steelers’ Mike Tomlin, who took over in Pittsburgh in 2007.

Harbaugh, hired in 2008 to replace Brian Billick, has led an incredible run of success in his 17 seasons at the helm.

Only twice in his nearly two-decade run have the Ravens finished with losing seasons (2015, 2021), while they’ve totaled double-digit victories in 11 different seasons — including six out of the last seven years.

He’s led 12 teams into the playoffs, six AFC North division titles and one Super Bowl win in 2013, which came against his brother Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers.

His 172 wins and 13 playoff victories are both the top marks in franchise history.

The Ravens, despite recent regular season success thanks in large part to two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, have fell short of their ultimate goal.

In 2023, they fell to the Chiefs in the AFC title game on home turf and lost to the Bills in the divisional round this past season.
