A wild soccer brawl resulted in a number of suspensions and fines after the Milwaukee Wave and Tacoma Stars came to an explosive end during a Major Arena Soccer League match.

Following the Waves’ 7-6 win over the Stars on Saturday, the two teams got into a shoving and verbal altercation as they attempted to shake hands.

The two teams of the MASL, an indoor professional soccer league made up of 12 teams around the United States, Canada and Mexico, pushed and shoved each other around the field before one player sprinted down a tunnel toward the locker rooms, quickly followed by a number of players from each team.

Meanwhile in the MASL, which remains the most wildly entertaining thing in American soccer, dudes are just going full malice in the palace. At the center of it all is Stefan Mijatovic. Video of the incident started going viral on Wednesday.

It’s unclear what transpired or what happened after the players left the view of the camera, but the fracas led to the suspensions of Tacoma’s Roman Torres, Luis Birrueta and Stefan Mijatovic, who received the harshest penalty of anyone.

Mijatovic was given a four-game ban for “his in-game and post-game conduct, and for making unprofessional, offensive and abusive language/comments in-game and post-game.”

Additionally, “due to the fact that Stefan Mijatovic was previously put on a league probation, Mijatovic will also be issued an undisclosed fine, two (2) penalty points and will need to complete an anger management course and provide the league with a certificate of completion.”

Tenzin Rampa, Derek Huffman and Qudus Lawal of the Wave were given suspensions.

“All MASL players, staff, and league personnel are expected to always demonstrate professionalism and self-discipline, regardless of whether extenuating circumstances exist,” the MASL said in a statement.

The Stars, in a statement of their own, said they were conducting an internal review of the incident.
