A “long time” in Dan Orlovsky’s world turned out to be three weeks.

After hinting that his future with ESPN was up in the air the day after Super Bowl 2025, the former NFL quarterback was back on television Monday morning on “Get Up.”

The 41-year-old also responded to a fan on X who asked if his “retirement” from ESPN was “already over.”

“Was never retiring. Just taking my time away,” Orlovsky replied.

Asked by another fan if he was back full time, the NFL analyst said, “No just a day or 2 up till draft.”

Orlovsky signed a three-year contract with ESPN in 2022 and the deal reportedly expires this summer.

He raised eyebrows on the Feb. 10 episode of “First Take” when he said he was “taking a break, won’t be on TV for a long time.”

Orlovsky then thanked Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim and Shannon Sharpe and said, “Never know what the future holds.”

Later that day, when a fan on X expressed belief that Orlovsky gave a “leaving the network speech,” he responded with, “Lotta decision [sic] to be made. See what happens. I’m grateful for it all.”

Orlovsky spent part of his time away on vacation with his family in Hawaii.

“What an incredible place,” Orlovsky wrote on X of the trip. “The people, the culture, the way of life, the appreciation of family—The food. The peace you can be at while there. Forces you to stop and be present in all ways.. Kauai is now my favorite place in the world. Such great reflection and spirit. Lot of good thoughts and I’m grateful for that time with my family.”

Orlovsky, who played for the Lions, Texans, Colts and Buccaneers, had talks with Fox Sports before re-upping with ESPN three years ago, a pact which put him in the No. 2 “Monday Night Football” booth.

He’s also expressed interest in potentially joining an NFL coaching staff.

“The more I get away from being done playing, the greater the pull back to it,” Orlovsky told Dan Patrick in January. “Just because of the competitive drive.”

Orlovsky, who initially joined ESPN in 2018, frequently appears on “Get Up,” “First Take” and “NFL Live.”

He retired from the NFL in 2017 after being released by the Rams at the end of the preseason.
